Trail Use Guidelines - Motorcycles

  • Never ride trails when raining, very wet or in deep snow. This causes severe damage and requires hours of shovelling to repair.
  • Ride the Sides, NOT THE CENTER RUT! Enjoy your ride, it is not a race.
  • Always have a good condition rear tire on your bike at low pressure. NO BALD TIRES IN TRAILS!!!
  • Do not take beginner riders through the Vedder MC trails, keep them on the Forest Service Road or on the Tower Road (across the top of the mountain) to learn how to handle their bikes. Start them trailriding at Chipmunk Creek or Nicklemine north of Hope where the trails are easier, rocky and less prone to damage.
  • Always carry a handsaw and cut through trees and branches well back from the trail. Most branches and small trees can be moved by hand, don't be lazy and just ride over them. We appreciate all the help keeping trails clear, so STEP UP!
  • Throw branches and large rocks off trails.
  • Never cut trails wider or make alternate lines ("trail-braiding").
  • Build Respect with other users, shut your bikes off and remove your helmets when talking to people.
  • 96 dB sound test your bike at a PNWMA Off-Road Series (ORS) race. See www.pnwma.com for more info and a full racing, dualsport & trail riding calendar.
  • Purchase your annual BCORMA Trail Pass at our CORMC fundraisers or from any PNWMA club. Check out www.bcorma.ca
